RESTORE Belize recently partnered with the Belize Enterprise for Sustainable Development (BEST) to develop and deliver a training module in Monitoring and Evaluation for rural communities across Belize. BEST has developed the Sustainable Natural Resource-Based Livelihoods (SNRL) Project to provide support to inland and marine communities located near eight key protected areas to develop new job-creating ventures that ease pressure on threatened natural resources. A comprehensive training program targeting men, women and youth will be implemented to facilitate the transition to the selected alternative livelihoods and to strengthen the resilience of the communities and their livelihoods.

Monitoring and evaluation workshops have been held in San Antonio (Cayo), Sarteneja, San Felipe, Bermudian Landing, Independence, Bella Vista and Punta Gorda. These workshops were conducted by RESTORE Belize staff in both English and Spanish. Each session catered to 10-15 passionate, committed members of the community, determined to make a positive change.
